Intel MPI

Introduction

Intel MPI Library 2017 focuses on making applications perform better on Intel architecture-based clusters implementing the high-performance MPI-3.1 standard on multiple fabrics. It enables you to quickly deliver maximum end user performance, even if you change or upgrade to new interconnects, without requiring changes to the software or operating environment.

Caveat on compilation

By default using the typical commands mpicc (for C code), mpic++ (for C++ code) or mpif90 (for Fortran code) will use the GCC compiler suite. This is probably not what you intend, and to select the Intel compilers ensure you have a compatible intel/compiler/version_number module loaded to match intel/mpi/version_number and use mpiicc, mpiicpc and mpiifort respectively.
